Meet Khames
Khames, a fifth generation goldsmith and the youngest of eleven, was born in Cairo, Egypt. He’s been behind the workbench honing his craft since he was eight years old.
He attended business school in Egypt while simultaneously running his family's jewelry manufacturing business before venturing on to the United States. He first came to the U.S. through New York City in order to work there as a jeweler, until he made an unscheduled trip to discover Virginia Beach. He fell in love with the diversity of the area, the friendliness of the locals, and the gorgeous weather.
He would return to New York, only to pack his bags and move here. He considers the move one of the best decisions that he has ever made. He worked at a local, well-known jewelry store for over 15 years before opening his own store on North Great Neck Road, Khames Jewelers.
